5 UK Rappers Who Would Fit Into U.S Rappers Labels

A few months back in March UK Rapper/MC Chip(munk) upped and left for the states where he inked a deal with Hip Hop superstar T.I and his label 'Grand Hustle' so far so good for Chip, T.I. has cosigned him heavy in lots of interviews and he's keeping him close by. Another signing we've seen recently by a U.S label is K Koke going to Jay-Z's Roc Nation label.  We got to talking in the Glide Blog Office about what other UK Rappers we could see fitting well into US labels, we came up with loads of names who aren't on the final list of 5 but we felt these 5 had the best fit to these labels. Hopefully one day we'll be able to do a 'top 5 U.S rappers who would fit into UK rappers record labels' list but for now check this one out and feel free to add your own suggestions in the comment box.

1. J Spades  To MMG : Spades has the consistent street heat over here similar to MMG's movement in the states especially over the last 12 months he's been putting out nothing but fire, every fan of UK street music either listens to or knows somebody who's tumping tracks off of 'More Money More Pagans' right now He's able to add a Caribbean twang to the Lex Luger type beats along with jaw dropping lyrics and flashy videos he'll fit right into Rozay's camp.

 2. Krept & Konan To YMCMB: Play Dirty hold the crown as the punchline kings in the UK with often light hearted and bouncy tracks you can just tell Krept, Konan & Yungen have a lot of fun making music much like the YMCMB camp, it's living a dream for both camps. Krept & Konan have a crazy work rate as well something Weezy would definitely admire as he's turned out 1000s of freestyles himself. They've got a cult like following over here in the UK and YMCMB just seems like a perfect fit for Krept & Kones even Yungen as well, like a partnership deal for Play Dirty maybe their own imprint under YMCMB to bring other UK Artists in? Now that would be a real power move.

3. Wretch 32 To G.O.O.D Music: We know Wretch is already signed to Ministry of Sound as there 1st big rapper and that's fantastic, we loved the 1st album here at TGB but we had a major brainwave check this out, Wretch won the BET for best UK Act so right now everybody in america is asking who the hell is this guy? the interest is on! not to mention he smashedddd the BET Hip Hop Awards cypher! We feel Wretch to G.O.O.D Music is a perfect fit for a number of reasons. The 1st because he makes good music durr. But most importantly because even though we feel Wretch has achieved great success over here we still don't think the pop culture in the UK is embracing him as much as he deserves to be I mean how the hell did he take home a BET before a MOBO or BRIT WTF? It could just be down to the ignorance the popular music industry as a whole possesses, instead of noticing and awarding good lyrics they opt for a catchy pop hook sung by a computer generated chick which is labelled a hit record due to bought plays on major radio and TV stations by their labels, however with Mr West in Wretch's corner we could safely say full respect and recognition will be awarded to 32, if not Kanye will jump up on stage again.

4. Startzy To Roc Nation: Startzy's been putting in work for a while now but it's only recently that he's really getting the industry recognition in the UK we feel he should have been getting a long time ago, up for Best Hip Hop at this years OMAs, heavy support from TV channels like Flava TV & AKA. With no labels or management Startzy still ends up rubbing shoulders with the bigger players in the game. We feel Startz has the ability work both the UK & U.S markets but just needs the kind of backing and structure Roc Nation could supply, there's no doubt he has the ability and work ethic, the kids like a chameleon you put him on a grime track he delivers, you put him on a hip hop track he delivers and if you want some killer hooks you can guarantee the glideministers coming through with the heat. His latest tape Coz I Rarseclart Can 2 is way up in our most visited posts and is already doing hugh things in the street and online. That's just it with Startz, with his diversity and creativity there's no reason he can't jump on a banger with Willow Smith then be spazzing out back to back with the likes of J.Cole or Jay - Z on a next track he connects with the streets as well as those from other walks of life and gets love from them both.

5. Cashtastic To Bad Boy: CAAASH! has found his niche in the market he's got the young girls going absolutely nuts for him along with the Play Dirty's, Team Tastic are forever present on twitter, you can't miss them. With that being said we know Diddy isn't one to miss out on an opportunity and he knows we have a thriving scene over here since collaborating with Skepta, so why not? Diddy's revamping the Bad Boy roster recent signings including MGK, French Montana & Los but why not take it back to the 90s, I mean the records still get played today right? Cash has got a lot of pain records yes however he's also got a lot of party bangers! This sound could generate a lot of money from live performance in the states, would be similar to the Diddy & Mase Bad Boy era.
